Ever since its re-launch in 2004, the Pontos collection by Maurice Lacroix has been a guarantee of quality, contemporary timepieces. A pure and timeless design inspired by modern architecture, with an inner mechanism of the highest quality complemented by attractive, astonishing additional functions is wowing an ever-growing number of enthusiasts worldwide. The year 2007 will see Maurice Lacroix expand this successful collection by launching a new special chronograph, expected to attract a devoted following of connoisseurs in record time! Chronographs with generously proportioned diameters are the latest trend. Most of these models, however, feature calibres that are unable to fill their spacious watch shell. This is not the case with the Pontos Chronographe Valgranges. This watch’s automatic movement is based on the Valgranges A07 calibre. With 16½ lines, it is a perfect fit for the 47-millimetre stainless steel case, which is causing a sensation with both its generous proportions and its elaborate finish. Distinct and sophisticated, its shape is no less than we have come to expect from Pontos collection models: The two beautifully shaped buttons for the chronograph functions are harmoniously integrated, the elongated, slender joints being slightly curved. The dial is refined down to the finest detail and characterized by different dial levels which emphasize the additional functions. The frame for the dial, available in either black or natural silver colour, is created by generously proportioned, applied index marks, a cleverly held minutes ring and a practical tachymeter scale for calculating average speeds.
